Inspired by goop, Well Being is an original musical satire of the wellness industry, its place within the American healthcare system, and its implicit question of access in regard to race and class.

Namaste and welcome to the Santa Monica headquarters of foob, a holistic lifestyle brand founded by actress-turned-wellness warrior, Felicity Birch.

PREMISE

Emerging alive from the hot-pink wreckage of the #GirlBoss era (d. 2020), foob, a wellness company “breaking the chains of American healthcare,” continues to grapple with charges of elitism and inaccessibility. As part of her company-wide rebrand, Felicity has decided to promote her protégée, Nevaeh Freeman—a young, prolific, media-savvy marketing strategist. And now, the only woman of color on the executive team. Here—where the slumber party never stops and “woke” is hand-stitched on the silk eye masks—Nevaeh has some questions. Can a diversified, democratized wellness company fix an unequal healthcare system? Is wellness healthcare? What exactly is macadamia milk?
